Abstract

Nanoelectronics has emerged as a transformative force in space science, enabling unprecedented advancements in observational astronomy, satellite instrumentation, and deep-space exploration. By miniaturizing components while enhancing their performance, nanoelectronics systems significantly reduce payload weight, power consumption, and thermal noise—critical factors for long-duration space missions. In astronomy, nanoelectronics devices such as superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs), quantum-dot photodetectors, and nanoscale bolometers offer ultra-sensitive detection capabilities across the electromagnetic spectrum, from radio to X-rays.
